Today I will share a quick news of September 2013 ban list. As expected, current meta were hit heavily by the new ban list. Anyway, the top 2 tier 0 deck still alive, is just that their speed have been slow down.

Official ban list is as below(only cards that affected is shown in the list):
Ban/Forbidden(No even a copies to be play in main, side or extra deck)
Reactan, Dragon Ruler of Pebbles
Stream, Dragon Ruler of Droplets
Burner, Dragon Ruler of Sparks
Lightning, Dragon Ruler of Drafts
Spellbook of Judgment

Limit/Restriction cards(Maximum only 1 copies is allow to be put in main, side or extra deck)
Number 11: Big Eye
Trishula
Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Rooster
Genex Ally Birdman
Mermail Abyssteus
Wind-Up Shark
Divine Wind of Mist Valley
Super Rejuvenation
Abyss-sphere
Semi-limit/Semi-restriction cards(Maximum only 2 copies can be put in main, side or extra deck)
Chaos Sorcerer
Gladiator Beast Bestiari
Gorz The Emissary of Darkness
Neos Grand Mole
Black Whirlwind
Fire Formation - Tenki

No longer limit/No longer restrict(Maximum 3 copies can be put in main, side or extra deck)
Wind-Up Magician
Tsukuyomi
Advanced Ritual Art
Emergency Call
Pot of Duality
Scapegoat
Reasoning
Mirror Force

By looking at the ban list, we can concluded that Konami really do their job very well. They stop both top meta by not touching their core engine/combos. As a result, both deck still successfully survive during next format. However, their consistency might fall back to before they have their support cards(Amateur Dragon Ruler and Spellbook of Judgment). I think they will drop to tier 1/1.5 during next format.

Besides hitting tier 0 deck, they also hitting FTK deck so that the FTK loop no longer exist. Fire Fist and Mermail also have some impact in this format. Thus their speed will be slow down drastically. I am happy to see Trishula back to my extra as I like synchro so much. Konami also helps to revive some of old theme deck such as Blackwing, Gladiator Beast, Wind-Up, Ritual-oriented and HERO decks.

By unlimiting scapegoat, we may see frequent occurrence of synchro-oriented or Mecha Phantom Beast deck soon as they can utilize it well. Reasoning is back to 3 as it is a luck-sack card and most important is DMOC is still in the ban list. The semi-limit of Gorz, Chaos Sorcerer, Neos Grand Mole and unlimit of POD and Mirror Force reflects that the next format will be a difficult game and we will end a game much slower than now.

Lastly, Big Eye Trading Card Game has been killed thus we will see less occurrence of Number 11: Big Eye in the game soon. Okay, that's all I want to share with you guys today. Thanks for your dropping by and wish you guys be ready for the new meta. Please stay tuned for my next post.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-7402762559507543612013-07-30T22:23:00.003+08:002013-07-30T22:24:31.978+08:00How To Trick Your Opponent for Misplaying Legally

Hey, guys! Today I would like to discuss about misplay. Many of the players try to avoid from misplay especially during the big event and I knew you guys will think I will discuss the tactics of how to avoid from misplay. However, I would like to share the opposite of it, which is how to make your opponent misplay as much as possible legally.

Yu-Gi-Oh is a game that requires both player to interact with each other no matter physically or mentally. You can trick them by using your body language, orally or both. To effectively making use of your body language, you will need the skill of acting. You can act like very cool especially when you are in a critical period. In such situation, your opponent may play less aggressively therefore you may survive for 1 more turn.

If you want to bait your opponent for using all his/her resource to OTK you, you can act like very nervous and if he/she unable to read through your mind, then he/she probably will fall into your trap and next turn you can turn the table around. However, a pro player will not easily fall into this kind of trap thus be aware of it. Body language is the most effective way to bait your opponent but it also requires some sort of acting skill thus not much people able to make use of it effectively.

Apart from that, you can also smiling or laughing your opponent while he/she were performing any action(although you don't have any set card). Through this way, they may stop for a while and re-think of how should they play because they afraid that the smile or laugh is a sign of having enough of protection to survive till next turn. However, this method may not be work some time because pro players will analyze the whole situation before they do any action.

I have seen this tactic during Malaysian WCQ Year 2007(if I not mistaken). My opponent was playing Horus the Black Flame Dragon and during those time most of the deck focus on heavy back row while not much of powerful effect monster. By playing Spell and Trap lock down deck, most of the time we can win the game easily. During that time I were lock down by this combo and I tried to play defensively, he keep on laughing loudly and said that "I can foresee that you will lose the game! Hahaha!". By doing so he already weaken my confidence and in the end I have lose the game.

Others than using your body language, you can also play around your opponent orally. You can try to shark your opponent for the consequences of extended play. Example, you have only 1 copies of CED at your back row but your opponent have 3 monster that can OTK you if they want. You keep on sharking him/her that "Beware of my set cards as it might be Mirror Force! Don't try to attack with full force else you will be regret!". In this way, you may survive for 1 more turn. I have seen some of the players using this trick numerous of time and it did works most of the time.

You can also shark your opponent for destroying cards that were less useful in the game. Example, you have 2 back row, 1 is CED and another is Starlight Road and your opponent have MST on hand. You keep on looking at the Starlight Road no matter what your opponent is doing. Therefore, your opponent may predict that the Starlight Road is a very important card for you as you are keep on looking at it. Then he/she will activate MST to target Starlight Road and destroy it. Through this method, you have save your CED for your opponent next play.

Besides that, you can persuade your opponent to extend their play if you sure you can survive for this turn and turn the table around next turn. For example, your opponent have 3 monsters on the field and he/she can OTK if they want but they choose to play safe. In this case, you try to persuade he/she to extend their play by saying that "If you not dare to OTK me this turn, I bet you will regret it later on!" As a result, he/she may OTK you immediately and fall into your trap. However, please use this trick wisely as your opponent may have enough of preparation to stop your tactic.

Aside from those I have mentioned, you can also purposely making some "misplay" where the play actually is the best play that you did. To illustrate it clearly, let me put an example so that you can understand what I want to share with you guys. You have MST, Kycoo, Monster Reborn at your hand while you knew your opponent have 2 set card, one is Solemn Warning and another unknown card. You decide not to play the MST as doing so you have to blindly destroy a target. Therefore, you summon Kycoo and waiting for opponent to response to the summon.

If he/she decide not to negate your Kycoo then you can save the MST until end of Battle Phase else you can play your MST right after he/she negate your Kycoo from landing on the field. If Kycoo is safe then you can enter BP in order to check whether the other set card is a battle-trigger trap or not. If your Kycoo were destroyed during BP, then you can use the MST to destroy the Solemn Warning and reborn your Kycoo from the graveyard. Else just set your MST and wait for your opponent's further action.

Some of the players even use rude words to make their opponent rage, however, I discourage you guys for using any rude words to blame your opponent as doing so you may receive a warning penalty from referee. The worst penalty you may get is disqualified from play thus please be aware of this rule. If your opponent blame you with the rude words, you just simply call referee to come around and give him/her a penalty. Anyhow, always remember play hard or shark your opponent legally and never ever try to break the rule.

Okay, that's all I wanna share with you guys. Hope these trick can help you to win some of the game. Thanks for your precious time and wish you all have a nice day and good luck for the WCQ! Please stay tuned for my next post.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-4218863031859362572013-07-14T15:44:00.002+08:002013-07-14T15:52:10.642+08:00Is Almost Time To Go For New Format! September 2013 Ban List Speculation!Hey, guys! 1st of all, I would like to congratulate Zack Teoh for being Malaysia 2013 WCQ Finalist and he will represent us to compete in the final of WCQ 2013 by next month. Since we have enter the month of July and this means the September 2013 format is coming very soon. Like previous, I will do ban list speculation as well.

Undoubtedly, many of us dislike this format even my country WCQ 2013 finalist(Yes, he did mentioned it on his FB!) as only 2 top tier deck(Dragon Ruler and Prophecy) that viable to be play in this format and they are the most consistent compare with other deck. [Seems like this sentence have been seen from some where. Yes, you are correct! LGQ had mentioned it in his blog before I wrote this article.] Thus I see that Konami will make a big impact towards this format.

Before I go further discuss about the potential cards that may be hit in the ban list, let us review what card may be hit 1st. The list is as below:

Ban
-

Limit/Restriction card
Number 11: Big Eye
Dark Magician of Chaos
Deep Sea Diva
Glow-Up Bulb
Spellbook Magician of Prophecy
Super Rejuvenation
Spellbook of Judgment

Semi-limit/Semi-restriction card
Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack
Dandylion
Inzektor Hornet
Night Assailant
T.G. Striker
Fire Formation - Tenki
Gold Sarcophagus
Monster Gate
Scapegoat
Spellbook of Secrets

Unlimit/No longer restrict card
Debris Dragon
Reborn Tengu
Ojama Trio

Basically, I felt nothing should be ban as current format seems like not a card is too broken. Apart from that, by just limit or semi-limit the cards, the deck will be slow down. If we banned the card then the deck may die directly. One of the good example is Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity, Wind-Up is out of the range of competitive deck choice after the effective of March 2013 ban list as they are far less consistent to against tier 0 or 1. Therefore, no card might be ban during this format.

Many player argue that Number 11: Big Eye should be ban but I would rather choose it to be limit as it is one of the most useful Rank 7 Xyz monster other than Dracossack. By limit it to 1 then the game play of Dragon especially mirror match will move towards skill-play setup as you won't simply call it out unless you have clear the bait or force to do so. Compare with Dark Strike Fighter, it may not see so bad as most of the time you won't be kill instantly due to the present of it.

2nd, I feel that it's time for DMOC to back to the field. The reason is so simple, because it is a level 8 spellcaster monster and this will enables some deck especially Prophecy to gain back some advantage as some of its cards will be hit by the new format. By having DMOC you can play monster reborn/dark hole/heavy storm for twice, imba enough for us but I bet this card may not be too useful as it may just like BLS-Envoy of the Beginning. Apart from that, the new format gonna be a Rank 8/9/10 Xyz monster era. Thus it may be release from the ban list.

For Mermail, Deep Sea Diva is a card that must be hit as it helps to fuel up the field/graveyard instantly. It also enables more swarming play thus I think it will be limit as current format haven't hit it yet. Still I like to see the return of Glow-up Bulb as it will increase the speed of synchro-oriented deck and as long as Trishula or Brionac is stay in the ban list, Yugioh world should be safe. Spellbook Magician is the card that I would like to see in the list as it is the card that enables the flow of the Prophecy.

Super Rejuvenation and Spellbook of Judgment are the cards that must be hit as they will refill back all the resources that you have play within the turn. They help you to further extend the game during next turn while reducing the chances of your opponent to turn the table around. Thus this is the card that creates problem the most, I don't like to see it to be ban but by limit it the refill problem should be solve instantly.

For semi-limit list, Dracossack is the best card that must be hit so that generic Rank 7 become lesser. This will affect the consistency of Dragon Ruler as Dragon use it to waste opponent resources. Once you use out all of it then you will need to think of way to recycle it back. Dandylion and Hornet may be back to 2 again as they didn't do much compare with most of the meta deck. As long as key to combo both of them is limit then the combo play will not be too consistent.

I would like to see Night Assailant back to 2 as it seems like nothing to do as Konami have corrected their errata long time ago. It may just like Twin-Headed Behemoth that back to the unlimit list as well. T.G. Striker may also back to 2 as this will help T.G. Agent or anti-meta to out against the meta. Tenki is also must be hit as it is pseudo-ROTA for beast-warrior deck, most of the deck have only a copies of ROTA and it is unsearchable.

Gold Sarcophagus is too good to be play in Dragon thus I think put it back to 2 is a good option as doing so will not kill the deck. Monster Gate is good for deck like Hieratic as Reasoning is semi-limit thus I think it will back semi-limit as well. Scapegoat is less useful nowadays as Xyz monster have dominate the game thus I do think it will back to 2 copies too. By just limiting Judgment and Spellbook Magician, Prophecy is still strong thus semi-limit Secret certainly will slow down the play and its consistency.

Lastly, I would like to see Debris Dragon, Reborn Tengu and Ojama Trio back to unlimit. Debris Dragon and Reborn Tengu are the answer for more synchro play while Ojama Trio may boost the play of field-lock down deck. Okay, that's all I wanna share with you guys. Kindly drop your comment if you felt that I have leave out some of the cards. Thanks for your time and good luck for your tournament.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-17596000934823357962013-06-16T22:31:00.002+08:002013-06-17T20:35:24.904+08:00A guide to Prophecy, Dragon Ruler or Evilswarm?Hey, guys! Sorry for not update my blog so frequent. Before I start off with today's topic, let's us give a round applause to Michael Bonacini for discussing the change of Yu-Gi-Oh nowadays. What he had mentioned in his blog indeed is a fact, however, the reason that I believe why Konami would alter the competitive environment is due to they want to access to new blood(player)/niche/market. For more detail of his blog content, kindly visit his blog(Death Aspect) which I have placed into my buddies list.

Today I would like to share some of my views regarding Prophecy, Dragon Ruler/Elemental Dragon and Evilswarm. Most of us only knowing how good they are but not much people fully understand of how the deck work like. As a result, better players will have higher chances to win the game and poor players will have more misplay. Therefore, we must learn well how the deck works around and from there we can plan how to goes against them especially during mirror match.

Firstly, let us review on Prophecy. As mentioned by Michael Ting in his article, Prophecy is a beat deck which quite similar with HERO beat. Actually, Prophecy not just a beat deck, but I would categorize it under the group of control-oriented deck. Basically, what it did is try to waste all your resource within the few turns and kill you once your resource fully deplete. Normally, they will outplay you within 3-5 turns. If they have exceed the period and they still unable to outplay of you then mostly they will having trouble. The deck mechanism is quite similar with Six Samurai but rather than swarming with monster, they swarming the field with many spellbook.

With the release of Extra Pack 2013, new Spellbook support is started added into their deck and I believe soon Star Hall will become an important card that can be fit into most of the prophecy build as it can boost their monsters attack so that they can kill most of the big monster easily. Generally, the key in prophecy is Spellbook of Judgment and Spellbook Magician of Prophecy. Without Spellbook Magician of Prophecy in the deck, Prophecy is unstable and you can lose the game easily due to most of the spellbook require a spellcaster on field so that it can be activate. If you able to resolve Spellbook Magician effect, then you will instantly +1.

High Priestess of Prophecy is a card that enable you to have destructible effect so that you can shut the game down earlier. However, drawing too much Priestess is a bad dream especially when you unable to fulfill its summon condition. It may destroy your deck consistency thus some of the OCG player already drop its number to 2 instead of 3. The spellbook that added by the effect of Judgment enable you to have enough of hand to outplay your opponent or lock down your opponent. Kycoo is important when you are facing with Dragon Ruler or mirror match. Thus most of the Prophecy player will conserve Kycoo as it is the card that can lock your opponent while attacking them.

During mirror match, the player that won the die roll mostly have advantage as almost nothing can interrupt you unless they have Effect Veiler on their hand. Spellbook of Judgment will be the key to win the game during mirror match as you can set it and wait for your opponent to start with their combo then only chain for it. During your opponent End Phase, you will have more hand to play during your turn or lock the SS of Justice of Prophecy by SS Jowgen as non-turn player will resolve their card effect then only follow by turn player card effect. Therefore, beware of this play as it does happen frequently.

Second, Dragon Ruler is dominating OCG and TCG environment and they are good
enough against almost any deck. This is due to they can outplay you
almost any time and whenever they needed. Apart from that, Dragon Ruler
consider as the 1st deck in Yu-Gi-Oh history that not necessary to use up their normal summon while performing their combo. They are consistent most of the time as they can SS or Xyz summon almost any of their turn. However, they will be pretty bad if they have only 1 color Dragon Ruler in their hand and this situation seldom happen to them as they can swap their hand with the Dragon in their deck by using Tempest effect.

Basically, they will try to gather at least 3 color of Dragon Ruler in their graveyard so that they can have enough of resource to play during next turn. As I had discussed in my last article, Dragossack is the key to generate field advantage or suppress your opponent from having big play. 2nd, their Number 11: Big Eye is super effective especially during mirror match. The 1st player that firstly summon Big Eye during mirror match mostly will lose the game due to Big Eye Trading Card Game. As a result, be alert of dropping your Big Eye too early as you may lose the game because of it and dropping it when you have some sort of protection for Big Eye as some players started to main Enemy Controller to against from negated by Effect Veiler.

Vanity's Emptiness started become one of side deck for Dragon Ruler as they can shut down their opponent from abusive play after they have control the field. Many of the deck try to maining Vanity's Emptiness so that they can compete with this deck. However, Dragon Ruler can easily unlock it by activate Tempest effect to search for Dragon in the deck. Similar with Prophecy, Dragon Ruler normally try to deplete their opponent resource within 3-6 turns. If after the time frame they still unable to kill you, they will be facing difficulty of not enough of resources to continue the game. Thus the match between Prophecy and Dragon Ruler or mirror match is very interesting as you can see how they play their resource effectively.

Lastly, Evilswarm will be our last topic to discuss. Evilswarm is a deck where your monster will easily use up and once you unable to Xyz summon then you will lose the game. Most of the time, you will not have enough of monster in your hand and you will out of the tempo if your opponent able to withstand with the suppress of your Ophion. Some time you even have bad draw and require Infestation Infection to swap with other Evilswarm card from your deck. If your opponent chain with MST toward the play of Infection then you will lose a hand and may lead to a lose. Therefore, some of the players started to maining Kagetokage in order to improve the chance of Xyz summon.

1st, they will summon any Evilswarm monster then follow by SS of Kagetokage. If the monster you summon is Castor and you have another Evilswarm monster then you can have up to 2 Xyz monster on the field. In order to have more number of monster in the deck, they even include a copy of King of Feral Imps and Number 66: Master Key Bettle. They use Feral Imps to search out Kagetokage from the deck and use Master Key Bettle to protect their Ophion/Safe Zone/Imperial Iron Wall. If they have Castor, another Evilswarm and 2 copies Kagetokage and a Safe Zone, they will summon all of them and Xyz summon Ophion with Bettle then set the Safe Zone. Activate Bettle effect to target Safe Zone/Ophion, as a result, Ophion will not be easily destroy thus can form a lock down.

Evilswarm is a deck that require a lot of skill and a bit of luck as the deck is inconsistent thus not many people able to play it effectively. Some of the players even joke it as "it is not a deck" but for me, this is a deck which focus on player's skill rather than their combo. Their combo is straight-forward and this have cause some of the player for not thinking deeply on how to play it effectively. Innovative players will always come out of all sort of idea to improve their deck others than abandon it without having a try. So guys always remember that creative idea will generate better deck.

FYI, Droll & Lock Bird is not too effective against most of the deck except Prophecy and it only slow down the Prophecy but not killing them. Thus I don't highly recommend you guys to use it to stop DW or Dragon Ruler. Besides that, SD25 already officially release and overall the deck is inconsistent yet. Now I waiting for the release of special pack of V-Jump Edition 09(VE09). Hopefully this pack can upgrade the level of SD25 to tier 1. The new BLS will also release in this pack and more news will be revealed any time soon within this period.

Okay, that's all I want to share with you guys and sorry for posting such a lengthy article. Thanks for your precious time to drop by and wish you guys have a nice time with your parents. Last but not least, happy father's day to everyone and enjoy your precious moment with them. Please stay tuned for my next post.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-72013650465616090892013-05-22T23:50:00.004+08:002013-05-22T23:50:54.502+08:001st ever most competitive WCQ!Hey, guys! Today I would like to share my personal view on meta change. Extra Pack - Sword of Knights has been officially released to OCG. This is the 1st time OCG synchronize with TCG so that during WCQ we can have similar card pool to play. As a result, I expect we will have much interesting side-decking techniques and only competitive decks can survive in this environment. Apart from that, first time ever most of the Asia countries will be introduced with new format of tournament.

The new format started implement during WCQ 2013 and basically we will held the tournament similar with TCG environment. The tournament will be break into 2 days event which is day 1 preliminary of top 32 qualifiers and day 2 is for 32 seeders and top 32 qualifiers on day 1. This time we will have knock-out basis/single elimination on day 1 and Swiss format tournament on day 2. So for those that will compete during 2 days event, stamina and concentration will be the key for you to survive till day 2.

I bet Elemental Dragon will still conquer the OCG environment and they may even conquer TCG environment as well. Due to all the Elemental Dragon rarities are below R except their extra deck thus I expect a high percentage of people will playing it. In the end, we will a format where Elemental Dragon is the dominance in WCQ. I personally think that not much players affordable to play Prophecy as they are very bloody expensive in TCG environment due to most of their cards are in highest rarity.

Besides that, Evilswarm also started landed at TCG environment thus Evilswarm may be one of the choice to against both deck as most of the decks hard to cope with their speed and Evilswarm can temporary lock them down by standing Ophion on field. However, if we regularly check out the deck choice that compete in major tournaments especially in Japan, we will found that Evilswarm is less topping since mid of April 2013. The reason behind this is Evilswarm not so easy to against both decks as both of them can generate OTK easily once they stop your Ophion from face-up on the field.

I think some of the players still haven't figure out what is the main reason Elemental Dragon dominating OCG. FYI, they have the ability of destroy, search, grave SS, mill and swarming where all of the element that a competitive deck must have. One of the major reason why Elemental Dragon is so strong and stable is due to the occurrence of Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack. With it, you can perform attack or defense easily. Aside from that, it enable you to get rid of back row almost without cost or force your opponent to waste more resources in order to get rid of it.

2nd reason is they can Xyz summon Number 11: Big Eye easily and use it to steal your monster so that you lost your defense wall. 3rd reason is they can swarm the field without performing any normal summon. Averagely, all of the level 7 Elemental Dragon ATK are more than 2k except Redox thus they can beat you down even without Xyz summon. Moreover, Judgment of the Light(JOTL) has been released to the OCG environment 2 weeks ago. Quite some amount of good cards were printed in this booster.

However, those cards would not cause a drastic change to the current meta environment. Just few new archetype of cards been introduced to the game such as Mesmerizing Maneater, Bujin and Umbralis are quite interesting as their combo is pretty nice and easy to play. Quite a number of Mono Mermail topping during last week Japanese major tournaments thus we might see a lot of Mono Mermail after this. Let us see how effective Mono Mermail against tier 0, Elemental Dragon and Prophecy.

Hey, guys! Lord of Tahyon Galaxy(LTGY) will be introduce to TCG environment by next month and I believe it would affect whole TCG meta if their baby version Elemental Dragon were released in that booster as well. As a result, I decide to share some strategy on how to side against them. Basically, we can categorize E.Dragon into 2 major deck build, 1 is LADD control while the other is OTK build.

When E.Dragon was started introduce to OCG, numerous of player have tried different build for E.Dragon. In the end, they decide to play the build of LADD control and it is quite stable during that period. However, if you tried to observe them again, you will found that OTK build is increasing while LADD control build is decreasing. They found that LADD control is easier to be counter by their opponent especially Prophecy. Besides that, Prophecy player had changed their build to Jowgen lock down compare with High Priestess beat.

Before we go further on how to side against E.Dragon, let us review what are difference between LADD control build with OTK build.

Generally LADD control build will go through step as below to play LADD as soon as possible:
1, activate miniature Elemental Dragon effect and send Eclipse Wyvern to grave to SS big Elemental Dragon from deck.

2. Wyvern effect activate and banish LADD from deck.

3. If you have big Elemental Dragon on hand then SS it by banishing Eclipse Wyvern and miniature Elemental Dragon in graveyard.

4. LADD is added to hand due to Wyvern's effect.

5. Xyz summon Mecha Phantom Beast Dragon-Sack by overlay both big Elemental Dragon and activate its effect to SS 2 Mecha Phantom Beast tokens.

6. At this time, no normal summon was performed yet, thus released 2 tokens and normal summon LADD. By controlling face-up LADD and Dragon-Sack on the field, we use them to push through opponent.

For OTK build, they much more emphasize on Xyz summon of Mecha Phantom Beast Dragon-Sack to control the field. With Dragon-Sack, they can be used to push their opponent from setting up the field. It also have self-protection effect when they have token monster on their field and it can be use to attack or destroy back row. Moreover, they also focus on Xyz summon of Number 11: Big Eye to take control of opponent monster and push through opponent with their own monster.

Below is the list of cards that we may use to against/siding when your opponent is a E.Dragon player.

Monster
Angel O7, Archlord Kristya, Battle Fader, Chaos Hunter, Colossal Fighter, Crimson Blader, Destiny HERO - Plasma, Effect Veiler, Electric Virus, Evilswarm Ophion, Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo, Gorz the Emissary of Darkness, Jowgen the Spiritualist, Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, Lava Golem, Light and Darkness Dragon, Maxx C, Mermail Abyssgaio, Metaion, the Timelord, Number 16: Shock Ruler, Number 22: Zombiestein, Photon Strike Bounzer, Red Dragon Archfiend, Reptilianne Vaskii, Tragoedia, Treeborn Frog, Tribe-Shocking Virus, Vanity's Fiend, Vanity's Ruler

Spell
Dimensional Fissure, Forbidden Chalice, Necrovalley, Special Hurricane, Zombie World

Trap
Black Horn of Heaven, Bottomless Trap Hole, Breakthrough Skill, Compulsory Evacuation Device, Debunk, Deep Dark Trap Hole, Fiendish Chain, Imperial Iron Wall, Macro Cosmo, Mind Crush, Mind Drain, Rivalry of Warlords, Skill Drain, Soul Drain, Stygian Dirge, The Transmigration Prophecy, Vanity's Emptiness, Void Traphole

Similar with other deck, we can prevent/lock/stop their combo through several method. 1st method, lock down/negate/destroy their SS monster so that they cannot perform swarming so soon. Cards that can do so is Archlord Kristya, Chaos Hunter, Evilswarm Ophion, Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo, Jowgen the Spiritualist, Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, LADD, Number 16: Shock Ruler, Vanity's Fiend, Vanity's Ruler, Dimensional Fissure, Necrovalley, Special Hurricane, Black Horn of Heaven, Bottomless Trap Hole, Giant Trap Hole, Imperial Iron Wall, Macro Cosmo, Mind Drain, Rivalry of Warlords, Soul Drain, Vanity's Emptiness, Void Traphole and Zombie World.

Chaos Hunter, Kycoo, Dimensional Fissure, Necrovalley, Mind Drain and Zombie World may not too effective in locking their SS because they may SS the E.Dragon by using their baby version E.Dragon. Apart from using those cards that can help in locking SS, you must have good protection so that the you can continue push through with the card you hold till the game ends. E.Dragon can simply unlock your lock down by using Blaster, Elemental Dragon of Calderas's effect. Therefore, try to have enough of protection whenever you are in a lead.

2nd, we can negate/forbid activation of their monster effect on the field or in the graveyard. Generally, you may side in cards like Angel O7, Crimson Blader, Destiny HERO - Plasma, Effect Veiler, LADD, Mermail Abyssgaio, Metaion, Photon Strike Bounzer, Forbidden Chalice, Breakthrough Skill, Debunk, Fiendish Chain, Mind Drain, Soul Drain and The Transmigration Prophecy. If they are playing LADD control build, you may side cards such as Battle Fader, Gorz, Lava Golem, Number 22: Zombiestein, Red Dragon Archfiend, Tragoedia and Treeborn Frog.

The 3rd method that we can applied is to slow down/lock down/destroy their setup. The cards that fall to this category is Chaos Hunter, Crimson Blader, Electric Virus, Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo, Jowgen the Spiritualist, Lava Golem, Maxx C, Metaion, Number 16: Shock Ruler, Red Dragon Archfiend, Reptilianne Vaskii, Tribe-Shocking Virus, Dimensional Fissure, Necrovalley, Special Hurricane, Zombie World, Black Horn of Heaven, Bottomless Trap Hole, Breakthrough Skill,
CED, Debunk, Deep Dark Trap Hole, Fiendish
Chain, Imperial Iron Wall, Macro Cosmo, Mind Crush, Mind Drain, Rivalry
of Warlords, Soul Drain, Stygian Dirge and The Transmigration
Prophecy.

In order to stop them effectively, you should wait till the right timing to activate cards that can counter their combo. Example, they will Xyz summon Dragon-Sack almost every turn thus whenever you see it you can decide to activate cards that can counter it so that they cannot gain too much of advantage. Most of the time, E.Dragon will have zero or little number of trap lineup but the latest E.Dragon build already included some staple traps thus beware for their back row as well.

FYI, please don't even try to side in Cyber Dragon against them because once you do so, you probably will regret for doing soon. Although you can get rid of Dragon-Sack with it and fusion summon Chimeratech Fortress Dragon, most probably you will lose the game because they can easily Xyz summon Number 11: Big Eye and snatch your Fortress Dragon to kill you. If you want to have a taste of it, you can try so.

Okay, that's all I wanna share with you guys today! Thanks for your time and wish you guys have a nice day.

Elemental Dragons

Hey, guys! I'm back to blogging again. Malaysia ACQ just ended not long ago and is time for us to speculate what deck will dominate the final of ACQ. So far the finalist for each country ACQ consist of Evilswarm/Verz, Elemental/Incarnate Dragon, Prophecy and Mermail. The final stage of ACQ will be held at Thailand and each country champion will represent their country to compete in the event on 27th April 2013.

*E.Dragon=Elemental/Incarnate Dragon, FF=Fire Fist

Most of the time WCQ environment will be the replicate of ACQ environment, thus please stay tuned for it so that you can ready for WCQ much earlier. This time I saw a lot of E.Dragon appear in my country ACQ although the deck is bloody pricy(a deck that can cost RM1k++). As usual, most of my country players don't expect the swarming of E. Dragon deck in ACQ thus siding may not be ready for it. Nevertheless, E.Dragon is much stable now due to the release of its baby version dragon.

As a result, E. Dragon dominate the semi-final of Malaysia and Singapore ACQ. E.Dragon is just too good and currently their main opponent is Prophecy then only goes to Evilswarm. Prophecy can lock down E.Dragon by just having a Jowgen the Spiritualist and have full hand to against E.Dragon. If E.Dragon met with Prophecy then the winning ratio will be 50:50. Prophecy can build up their defense within a turn thus E.Dragon can be beat down if nothing wrong is happen.

Although Evilswarm can lock down E.Dragon and Prophecy easily, they are inconsistent. Therefore, they need Infestation Infection to exchange their hand. Evilswarm is good to against those 2 decks but they are bad to Fire Fist Tri/3-Axis Fire Fist due to FF can get rid Ophion easily through battle or Bear. Besides that, Evilswarm monster ATK point much lower than FF due to the help of Fire Formation.

So if nothing goes wrong, Prophecy may won the final of ACQ. However, I think with the release of Judgment of the Light(JOTL), FF will become super effective to against E.Dragon and Prophecy if they manage to build the consistency. 3-axis FF may be the major threat in WCQ 2013 as they have plenty of support card and its swarming mechanism quite similar with Junk Doppel. Thus do not look down this deck as they can wreck Prophecy and E.Dragon with sufficient of side.

Before I ended my post, I would like share a ruling where most of you may not seen before. If your opponent have LADD ATK position on the field and its ATK is less than your Brotherhood of Fire Fist - Bear, you perform attack with Bear and manage to destroy LADD during Damage Step. Right after After Damage Calculation, you will activate effect of Bear and LADD can negate your Bear effect as long as its ATK/DEF not less than 800/400 due to it have not sent to the graveyard. Thus please beware of this ruling.

Okay, that's all I wanna share with you guys. Thanks for your precious time and wish you guys have a nice day. Please stay tuned for my next post and I will discuss how to side against E.Dragon in next post.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-60053037363995649572013-03-05T23:42:00.002+08:002013-03-06T20:32:22.751+08:00How to side against Prophecy?

Hey, guys! OCG environment is started swarming with Prophecy deck and soon Prophecy may conquer TCG environment as well although TCG Prophecy deck build is not cheap. Since it will become meta, thus I will share some of my thought on how to side against Prophecy especially during Game 2 & 3.

Before I proceed to the discussion, let us check out what card in current card pool that can be used to against Prophecy deck.

Monster
Archlord Kristya, Aurora Paragon, Chaos Hunter, Dark Balter the Terrible, Dark Paladin, Droll & Lock Bird, Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo, Great Shogun Shien, Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8, Jowgen the Spiritualist, Koa'ki Meru Wall, Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En, Meklord Emperor Wisel, Naturia Beast, Number 16: Shock Master, Spell Canceller, Stardust Dragon /Assault Mode, The End of Anubis, Thunder King Rai-Oh, Vanity's Fiend, Vanity's Ruler and Void Ogre Dragon.

Spell
Deck Lockdown, Necrovalley

Trap
Anti-Spell Fragrance, Curse of Darkness, Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell, Eradicator Epidemic Virus, Imperial Iron Wall, Mind Crush, Tower of Babel and Vanity's Emptiness.

1st of all, we have 3 methods to against Prophecy deck. The 1st method is to disallow the Special Summon. Since Prophecy also focus on SS, thus we can play card that forbid from SS. The cards which in this category is Archlord Kristya, Aurora Paragon, Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo, Jowgen the Spiritualist, Vanity's Fiend, Vanity's Ruler, Deck Lockdown and Vanity's Emptiness.

Archlord Kristya and Aurora Paragon can be side by Agent Fairy player due to they are Fairy type monster. The rest of the cards can be side into almost any deck. However, you need to protect them carefully. Jowgen the Spiritualist can be side into Prophecy deck as well especially when you are having mirror match. Deck Lockdown may be suit to play for some of the deck so that Prophecy player cannot add Spellbook or SS monster from deck for 2 turns.

The 2nd method is lockdown/forbid/negate them from activate spell cards. The cards belong to this category is Dark Balter the Terrible, Dark Paladin, Great Shogun Shien, Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8, Koa'ki Meru Wall, Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En, Meklord Emperor Wisel, Naturia Beast, Number 16: Shock Master, Spell Canceller, Stardust Dragon /Assault Mode, Void Ogre Dragon, Cursed of Darkness, Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell and Towel of Babel. Most of this card hard to be play in current meta.

For Six Samurai player, they can fit Great Shogun Shien into their main again due to it can lock down from play multiple Spellbook. They can also easily synchro summon Naturia Beast and lock them from play spell cards with the back row protection. For Infernity player, if they have god luck sack then they can control the game easily with the help of Infernity Barrier and Infernity Break.

Thus we look for 3rd method which is destroy their mechanism or tempo or combo. The cards under this category is Chaos Hunter, Droll & Lock Bird, The End of Anubis, Thunder King Rai-Oh, Vanity's Fiend, Vanity's Ruler, Deck Lockdown, Necrovalley, Anti-Spell Fragrance, Eradicator Epidemic Virus, Imperial Iron Wall and Mind Crush. Currently, Chaos Hunter, Droll & Lock Bird, Thunder King Rai-Oh and Eradicator Epidemic Virus is quite effective against Prophecy.

The rest of the cards may be varied based on situation. Basically, the mechanism of Prophecy and Spellbook quite dependent with their grave. Spellbook of the Fate, Spellbook of Life, Spellbook of Master, The Grand Spellbook Tower and High Priestess of Prophecy, all also required grave material in order to activate their effect. Thus The End of Anubis and Necrovalley can be added into your side deck option.

Apart from that, most of the Spellbook or Prophecy key card required to remove from play/banish card in order to activate their effect, thus Chaos Hunter and Imperial Iron Wall can stop their play for a long time. Mind Crush may not be too effective because they will add different type of Spellbook into their hand during End Phase thus the card that hit by Mind Crush effect will be less. EEV is hot side deck choice in Japan as Evilswarm can easily fit it in and destructive.

Anyway, I don't think Malaysian will notice of the rise of Prophecy until someone topping it in major event. Thus not much people will ready their side against it and Prophecy may have advantage in upcoming ACS. So I hope some of the Malaysian player will notice this post and take it as a friendly advice so that have less issue when you are dueling with Prophecy especially in Game 2 or 3.

Okay, that's all I wanna share with you guys. Thanks for dropping by and wish you guys have a nice day. Please stay tuned for my next post.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-90406785104284606392013-03-01T00:42:00.000+08:002013-03-01T00:42:00.346+08:00Are you ready for Malaysia Qualifier Asia Championship 2013?

Hey, guys! Finally we have enter the month of March and the new March 2013 list will be applied. For those whose still not believe the latest ban list that I have posted last week, you can check it from here. Therefore, we will see more new meta to be formed due to new format.

New tier 1 meta will be comprise of Evilswarm, Constellar, Prophecy(currently in OCG), Mermail Atlantean, Fire Fist, Gadget variant(although number of players keep on decreasing), Geargia Elemental, Alive HERO, Mask HERO and etc. Tier 1.5 will comprise of Dark World, Wind-Up, Rabbit Laggia(also keep on less appear), Harpie Lady, HERO beat, Laval and etc.

Tier 2 comprise of Inzektor, Fire King, Hieratic, Chaos Dragon, Lightsworn, Dragunity, Agent Angel and etc. By referring to my prediction meta deck, I think you guys should have a question for why I would place Wind-Up at the tier 1.5. Many of us thought that March 2013 format will totally shut down most of the Wind-Up engine combo.

However, if you search through the card pool, you will found some combo whereby it would make Wind-Up competitive enough. They still can perform OTK with just 3 cards. The new combo for Wind-Up would be Zenmailstrom and Shark Fortress. Before I introduce the combo, let me introduce Zenmailstrom and Shark Fortress 1st.

Zenmailstrom

Zenmailstrom
Normal trap
Tribute 1 "Wind-Up" monster with 1500 or more ATK; Special Summon 1 "Wind-Up" monster from your hand, then you can Special Summon 1 "Wind-Up" monster from your deck with the same ATK as the monster Special Summoned by this effect.

The condition for activate Zenmailstrom is a bit difficult because most of the Wind-Up monster's ATK point lower than 1500. However, once you able to activate this card, then it almost ensure you will win the game. The monster that special summon from your deck via this effect can be same as the one special summon from your hand and you can choose its battle position.

Shark Fortress

Shark Fortress

Dark/Fish - Xyz - Effect/Rank 5/ATK 2400/DEF 1800
2 Level 5 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 face-up monster you control; that target can attack twice during each Battle Phase this turn. Other monsters you control cannot be targeted for an attack.

Shark Fortress is a good beat stick whereby it allow any of your face-up monster to attack twice during this turn's BP and without any side effect at all. It allow you to have more chances to OTK your opponent. Wind-Up is a deck where it can easily Xyz summon monster from Rank 3 to 5, thus this card is one of the good option for performing OTK.

Before I go further explain of the combo, let's have a view of the sample deck list 1st.

Monster(17):
Wind-Up Rabbit x3
Wind-Up Rat x3
Solemn Warning x1

Extra Deck:
Wind-Up Zenmaines x1
Number 17: Leviathan Dragon x1
Tiras, Keeper of Genesis x1
Shark Fortress x1
Number 61: Volcasaurus x1
Gaia Dragon, The Thunder Charger x1

Due to the key card, Zenmailstrom is a trap card and it is easily to be destroy if we set it up during our turn, therefore Dust Tornado is recommended so that Zenmailstrom can be set to field during opponent's End Phase. Then during our turn, we can use it to do our combo.

Below is the combo description:

1st method: You have Fire Formation - Tenki, Wind-Up Factory, Zenmailstrom on hand.

During your turn, activate Tenki and search for Rabbit. Activate Wind-Up Factory and normal summon Rabbit and activate its effect. Rabbit's effect trigger Factory's effect, add Magician to hand using Factory effect and set Zenmailstrom.

During your next turn, return Rabbit to field and with the help of Tenki, Rabbit ATK become 1500, thus fulfill the activation condition of Zenmailstrom. Activate Zenmailstrom and SS Magician from hand and Rat from deck. Activate Rat's effect to SS Rabbit from grave, Rat's effect trigger Magician's effect.

Magician's effect SS Shark from deck, Magician's effect trigger Factory effect to add 2nd copies Rat to hand. Rat and Rabbit overlay to Xyz M-X-Saber Invoker, activate Invoker's effect and SS Warrior from deck. Activate Warrior's effect and Shark's effect to increase to lv5 and overlay to Xyz Shark Fortress.

Activate Shark Fortress's effect by detached Warrior and target itself to have twice attack. Normal summon Rat and activate Rat's effect to SS Warrior from grave. Activate Warrior's effect to increase Rat to lv4, Warrior+Rat+Magician overlay to Xyz summon Number 69: Heraldry God - Coat of Arms. Activate Number 69's effect by mimic Shark Fortress's effect and activate Number 69's effect which copy from Shark Fortress. Target Number 69 to gain twice attack and lastly all monster attack opponent.

Overall battle damage is 1600 + (2400 x 2) + (2600 x 2) = 11600. Above calculation can only be applied if the situation is without any interruption.

2nd method: You have Wind-Up Factory, Wind-Up Warrior and a set Zenmailstrom.

Activate Factory and normal summon Warrior. Activate Warrior's effect, Warrior's effect trigger Factory's effect and add Magician to hand. Activate Zenmailstrom by releasing Warrior, SS Magician from hand and SS Rat from deck. Activate Rat's effect to SS Warrior from grave, Rat's effect trigger Magician's effect and SS 2nd copies of Rat from deck.

Overlay Magician with Warrior to Xyz Papilloperative and activate Papilloperative's effect by detached Magician to change 2nd copies Rat position to ATK position. Activate 2nd copies Rat's effect to SS Magician from grave and overlay 2 Rat to Xyz Invoker. Activate Invoker's effect by detached Rat and SS Warrior/Soldier from deck.

Activate Warrior/Soldier's effect and target itself to increase to lv5 and Warrior's effect trigger Magician's effect. Magician's effect SS Shark from deck and activate Shark's effect to increase to lv5. Overlay Shark and Warrior/Soldier to Shark Fortress and activate Shark Fortress's effect to let itself to gain twice attack. Lastly, attack your opponent with Papilloperative, Shark Fortress and Invoker.

Overall battle damage is 1600 + 2100 + (2400 x 2) = 8500. If we Xyz Number 61: Volcasaurus instead of Shark Fortress during the last step, the battle damage will be 1600 + 2100 + 2600(Gaia Dragon) + ?(Opponent monster ATK point destroyed by Volcasaurus's effect) = 6300 + ?

3rd method: You have TGU and Factory on hand and a set Zenmailstrom.

Activate Factory and normal summon TGU. Activate TGU's effect SS another TGU and Xyz Invoker. Activate Invoker's effect and SS Warrior from deck. Activate Warrior's effect to increase to lv5 and Warrior's effect trigger Factory's effect. Factory's effect add Magician to hand and activate Zenmailstrom by releasing Warrior. SS Magician from hand and SS Rat from deck.

Activate Rat's effect to SS Warrior from grave and Rat's effect trigger Magician's effect. Magician's effect SS Shark from deck and activate Warrior's effect to increase Rat to lv4. Overlay Magician, Warrior and Rat to Xyz Number 69 and activate Number 69's effect to mimic the effect of Invoker. Then activate Number 69's effect which copy from Invoker and SS 2nd copies of Warrior/Soldier.

Activate 2nd copies Warrior/Soldier's and Shark's effect to increase their level to lv5 and overlay to Xyz Shark Fortress. Activate Shark Fortress's effect and target Number 69 to gain twice attack. Invoker, Shark Fortress and Number 69, all attack opponent. Total battle damage is 1600 + 2400 + (2600 x 2) = 9200. If we Xyz Volcasaurus instead of Shark Fortress during last step, total battle damage will be 1600 + 2600 + 2600(Gaia Dragon) + ?(Opponent monster ATK point destroyed by Volcasaurus's effect) = 6800 + ?

Okay, that's all I wanna share with you guys! Sorry for the lengthy article. Thanks for your time and wish you guys have a good day. Please stay tuned for my next post.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-3289271172806920512013-02-19T22:10:00.001+08:002013-02-19T22:10:18.207+08:00Official March 2013 Ban ListHey, guys! Due to busy with my Chinese New Year celebration, thus update for post also delay. Today I will share with you guys for the Yugioh latest March 2013 list. This ban list had killed Wind-Up most important key card and TGU greatest partner. As a result, I predict that Wind-Up and TGU price in OCG will drop.

Without wasting your time, let us review what cards that affected by the March 2013 list.

Forbidden/Ban List:
Sangan
Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity

Limited/Restricted List(Max 1 piece in deck):
Wind-Up Magician
One Day of Peace
Solemn Warning

Semi-Limited/Semi-Restricted List(Max 2 pieces in deck):
Thunder King Rai-Oh
Tsukuyomi
Advanced Ritual Art

No-Longer Limited/Restricted(Max 3 pieces in deck):
Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow
Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner
Spore
Shien's Smoke Signal
Mind Crush

Overall, this is the 1st list that affected the least cards for whole Yugioh environment. Same like previous year, Konami still not decide to hit any cards for Meta that formed after the effective of September 2012 list. With this list, some of the tier 2 decks may rise to tier 1 again. Dark World may back to stage again to compete with most of the Meta due to the unlimit of Mind Crush.

This time Konami had decided to shut down the main key of Wind-Up by banning Carrier Zenmaity and limit the play of Magician. Therefore, the speed of Wind-Up deck will drastically slow down and OTK lesser to happen. TKRO is limit to 2 copies so that search engine and SS of monster hardly to be block by it.

Many people still doubt regarding the limit of One Day of Peace and Solemn Warning. For me, hitting Solemn Warning is reasonable because Konami want us to have more aggressive play rather than defensive play and increase the game speed. One Day of Peace is an important key for decks such as FTK Exodia, Final Countdown, Prophecy and etc so that they can stay longer.

The unlimit of Kalut and Lumina may not significantly provoke the play of Blackwing and Lightsworn in the tournament due to their speed is slower compare with most of the Meta today. However, the unlimit of Shien's Smoke Signal may increase the speed of Six Samurai a little bit. Anyway, Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En still in 1 copy thus the deck flow still balance.

Apart from that, we may see that synchro-oriented deck compete in World Championship 2013 soon. I predict this situation may occur due to the upcoming booster, Judgment of The Light introduce some new synchro monster and new tuner as well. Hopefully synchro monster will not just release in this booster but other booster as well.

Besides that, for those that have tried of Incarnate Dragon, it is a well-build theme card and you can play the deck very easily. It is a nice deck that well-designed by Konami and luckily all their effects can only be activate Once per turn. Else this deck is much powerful than Inzektor. This deck allow you to Xyz summon Number 11: Big Eye easily.

Okay, that's all I want to share with you guys. Thanks for your time and hereby I wish you guys have a nice day. Stay tuned for my next post.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-49023029752169791432013-01-28T18:26:00.002+08:002013-02-10T22:57:27.699+08:00March 2013 Ban List SpeculationHey, guys! As usual, I will do ban list speculation as well. This time I feel that not much cards will be hit by the ban list but certain decks such as Wind-Up, Mermail Atlantean, HERO, Prophecy Spellbook and etc may be hit by this ban list. Below is my prediction list:

Ban List:
Monster Reborn

Limited/Restricted List:
Dark Magician of Chaos
Goyou Guardian
Deep Sea Diva
Wind-Up Magician
Divine Judgment of the Spellbook
Wind-Up Factory

Semi-limited/Semi-restricted List:
Formula Synchron
Mezuki
Fire Formation - Tenki
Dragged Down into the Grave
Miracle Fusion

Unlimited List:
Reborn Tengu

For the banhammer, I think only 1 card is deserve to be ban and that is Monster Reborn. This card is too strong and it can be say as the most important card to turn the table. Thus Konami may drop this card to the ban list again.

With the ban of Monster Reborn, I don't think Konami will reopen Premature Burial because the loop of Dewloren to recycle it is still valid. I do think that the another member of Chaos which is Dark Magician of Chaos will be released from the ban list and become limited again. Apart from that, I would like to see Goyou Guardian back to the stage of synchro again. Blackwing player certainly want Goyou Guardian in their extra deck again.

In order to hit Mermail Atlantean, I think Konami will not hit the Atlantean engine but they may limit the copies of Deep Sea Diva in the deck so that the speed of the deck will slowing down. Deep Sea Diva is act as one of the key for Xyz or synchro easily. If you are aware of it, most of the time Diva will SS Heavy Infantry so that they have extra normal summon and then fill-up the graveyard so that Moulinglacia can be SS from hand. It is a card that enable Mermail Atlantean to have variety of play style and combo.

Wind-Up is still tier 1 especially in TCG environment(OCG Wind-Up players is dropping due to Constellar and Evilswarm can overcome them easily), it is necessary to limit Wind-Up Magician and Wind-Up Factory so that their speed will slow down. With Wind-Up Factory, they can gain a lot of hand and proceed with OTK when necessary. Combo of Shark with Magician is too strong and they only need 2 hand to generate the combo. Their OTK combo is far more easy compare with the other deck such as Inzektor, Mermail Atlantean, Hieratic and etc. As a result, they should be limit.

This time I do include a not yet released card in the speculation list. Divine Judgment of the Spellbook is a spell card that enable Prophecy player too have up to 6 hands every turn and it does not limit on adding itself to hand during the End phase. The most important part of it is as long as EITHER player successfully activate any spell card during this turn then they can add Spellbook from deck up to the number of spell card activated within the turn.

<strike>By playing Spellbook of the Master and mimic the effect of Divine Judgment of the Spellbook, Prophecy player can SS up to 3 monsters on the field during the End Phase(NS Fool of Prophecy then release Fool to SS Reaper of Prophecy, Reaper of Prophecy SS random lv5 or above Dark Spellcaster from deck, resolve Divine Judgment effect and SS Justice of Prophecy and banish to add High Priestess of Prophecy and any Spellbook. Then resolve Spellbook of Master effect and in the end you can have 3 monsters on the field)</strike>. I bet Konami won't limit this card as if they do it then they have create new record for limiting a card before it was officially released.

Besides that, I wish to see Formula Synchron goes to 2 as synchro deck is hardly to be seen nowadays. Without the appearance of ultimate monster, Trishula on the stage, Formula Synchron may not effective enough compare with synchro era. Mezuki may be back to 2 as well as it can helps to gain back the speed of Undead deck. Undead deck is a nice deck that capable to do Xyz and synchro easily. However, they most afraid of DD deck and the biggest problem is Mezuki at 1 while Plaguaspreader Zombie at 1. As a result, we hardly to seen it on the stage.

Fire Fist is started gaining popular in OCG and it has rise till tier 1.5 as its build is simple and consider cheap(without playing expensive promo cards). Fire Fist gained advantage by having Fire Formation on the field and not easily to out of monster due to they have 3 copies of pseudo-ROTA. Fire Formation - Tenki is a pseudo-ROTA for beast-warrior and boost the ATK of beast-warrior. Although we can only activate it ONCE per turn, but it is a re-usable ROTA by combo-ing it with Mist Valley Falcon or Blackwing -Zephyros the Elite. You can found this build in YGO OCG News.

I think most of us have seen the powerful combo of Dragged Down into the Grave with Mind Crush. Although Dark World still in tier 1.5 but I believe Konami will create an environment whereby their army can be rise to tier 1. I can see the days where they are coming and most probably will be after this March. Although HERO players is dropping down due to incoming of Evilswarm, I still can see that it is powerful enough as Miracle Fusion will always do the job. With 3 Miracle Fusion straight in a row and have enough of monster, they can almost guarantee a win and it almost costless compare with Super Polymerisation.

Reborn Tengu is less appearing in major deck due to Xyz are more flexible and Tengu cannot trigger its effect if it was used as Xyz material. Compare with Tour Guide of Underworld, it is a bit difficult to play as you may hold 3 Tengu at a time while TGU allow you to SS another copies of itself even you have 2 copies of it in your hand. Thus I personally feel that Tengu may be back to 3 after this.

Before I ended up my post, I predict that the new tier 1 will be Spellbooks Prophecy, Fire Fist, Evilswarm, Constellar, Harpie Lady and Phantom Beast Plane. For those whose still thinking of what is the reason of reprint Naturia Beast as common, Konami hope us use it to against Spellbook Prophecy, Dark World, Harpie Lady and FTK deck. After effective of March 2013 ban list, I believe the whole environment will change back to backrow-oriented environment.

FYI, the real March 2013 ban list will be revealed within the period of next month 15th to 20th. Thus if there is any leaking ban list before these date then most probably it is a fake list. Okay, that's all I wanna share with you guys. Thanks for your time and wish you guys have a nice day. Please stay tuned for my next post.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-57378091494336895562013-01-05T20:03:00.000+08:002013-01-05T20:03:18.266+08:004 important aspect that you should not miss out for each gameHey, guys! At 1st I would like to wish you guys happy new year. I pretty sure lot of us have experienced the difficulty in choosing to play which card during the critical period. Hereby, I share with you guys regarding how do I make my decision to play what card during critical period.

Before you drop your play to the field, you must always consider important aspects no matter when and where. I categories them into 4 important aspects which is field with banish zone, graveyard, hand and deck. The field that I mentioned here included monster zone, field spell zone and spell/trap zone.

1st, frequently check field with banish zone as well. Card on the field is essential to everyone as it will determine the final answer of the game. If you unable to overcome the field card advantage, then most likely you will lose the game. Banish zone is also essential as they can be your final weapon to turn the table. Thus please be aware of the importance of banish zone too.

Currently, we hardly to found powerful banish zone-oriented cards as most of them have been banned or restricted. For example, Dark Magician of Chaos, Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier, Dimension Fusion, Return from Different Dimension, Envoy of the Beginning - Black Luster Soldier and etc. I believe soon Konami will release more card effect that can activate at banish zone.

When we refer to the field card advantage, we not just count it based on the number of card on the field but also count on the capability of the card on the field. Example, you have 4 monsters on the field(none of them can negate nor unaffected by monster effect) but opponent only have a set monster. You definitely think that you will win if all your monster able to attack directly after clear the set monster. However, if the set monster is Morphing Jar 2 then I bet you will be trolled by it.

Let me explain in another situation. You have 3 monster on field(all monster ATK more than 1500) and opponent have a set spell/trap and he left with 3000LP. He have a hand left while you have 2 monsters on the hand. At this moment, you summon a monster and opponent chain it with a Torrential Tribute. This scenario frequently happen and still happening most of the time. The correct decision is you should end the game by declaring attack with 3 of the monsters on the field. If anything bad happen to those monsters then you still have other monster to back you up.

2nd, frequently check out card(s) in the graveyard. Graveyard is an important aspect that we must not forget as they will provide sufficient of
information regarding deck type, hand trap, key card, field trap and countermeasure. By checking graveyard, we can foresee what may happen during this turn, upcoming turn(s) or next game. With
graveyard information, we can conclude or assume that what card did we
had or hadn't play through the game.

I knew most of you guys already
realize the important of graveyard as nowadays meta decks are
graveyard-oriented. Thus without wasting too much of time, I will skip the part of how to use the graveyard information that you gathered. However, please bear in mind that the more cards is in the graveyard, the more card information will be exposed, thus more countermeasure can be make based on those information.

3rd, always check hand size. Most of the time, hand size
helps in determine to play defensively or aggressively. If both players having equal number of hand, you may go for defensive play. If you have larger hand size then you may go for aggressive play. If you have lesser hand size then you must play your cards with the smartest way. However, this strategy may varies based on your deck type and personal play style.

Example, your opponent have 3 set spell/trap and no monster while you have a Gemini Spark and Elemental Hero - Another Neos on hand. Some of the players would just normal summon Another Neos and directly activate Gemini Spark once Another Neos successfully landed on field. The correct move should be normal summon Another Neos and enter Battle Phase. If there is card chain to your Another Neos's attack then only chain with Gemini Spark and target other opponent's set card. With such move, you can +1 while your opponent -2.

2nd example, you have 3 hands(Debris Dragon, One for One and Foolish Burial) while your opponent have 3 hands(assume that no hand trap). His field have 1 set monster on the field while you have 1 Reborn Tengu on field (another Tengu is in the deck). Your graveyard have 1 Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite, 1 Spore and 1 Effect Veiler. Your extra deck have 1 Scrap Dragon, 1 Formula Synchron, 1 Shooting Star Dragon, 1 Shooting Quasar Dragon, 1 T.G. Librarian, 1 AOJ Catastor, 1 Black Rose Dragon, 1 Gaia the Fierce Knight, 1 Mist Wurm and 1 Maestroke the Symphony Djinn.

Shooting Quasar Dragon

Some of the player will go for Foolish Burial and send Dandylion to graveyard. Normal summon Debris Dragon and SS Effect Veiler with Debris effect then go for synchro summon Formula Synchron using Veiler plus token. After that, return Tengu to hand with Zephyros effect and SS 2nd copies of Tengu(if you are lucky as you don't draw 2nd copies Tengu when activate Formula Synchron's effect). Xyz summon Maestroke using Tengu and Debris Dragon. Activate One for One with Tengu as the cost and SS Spore from deck. Then synchro summon Librarian using Zephyros with Spore and SS Spore from graveyard by banishing Dandylion. Synchro summon Catastor using Spore and token and synchro summon for Shooting Quasar Dragon. In the end, you have 2 hands, 1 Shooting Quasar Dragon and 1 Maestroke on the field.

The correct sequences should be SS Zephyros from graveyard and return a Tengu to hand. SS 2nd copies Tengu from the deck and activate One for One with Tengu as the cost. SS Spore from deck and synchro summon Librarian by using Zephyros and Spore. After that, activate Foolish Burial and send Dandylion to graveyard. SS Spore from graveyard by banishing Dandylion and synchro summon Catastor using Spore and token. Then normal summon Debris and SS Spore with Debris effect. Synchro summon Formula Synchron with Spore plus token. At this time, you have 3 hands and still can Xyz summon Maestroke and synchro summon Shooting Quasar Dragon.

OR activate Foolish Burial and send Dandylion to
graveyard. Normal summon Debris Dragon and SS Effect Veiler with Debris
effect then go for synchro summon Librarian using Veiler with Tengu and 2nd copies Tengu will be SS from deck. After that, activate Zephyros effect and return Tengu to hand. Xyz summon Meastroke using Debris and Zephyros and activate One for One by using Tengu as the cost. SS Spore from the deck and synchro summon Formula Synchron then SS Spore by banishing Dandylion. Synchro summon for Catastor using Spore with token and lastly synchro summon Shooting Quasar Dragon. In the end, you have 3 hands, 1 Maestroke with 1 Shooting Quasar Dragon on the field.

4th, always ask yourself what card left that you have in your deck and what is the possible cards that may included in your opponent's deck. Besides that, you can ask opponent for the number of cards left in a deck and its total. The number of cards in a deck and its total must be reveal whenever a player ask about it. Apart from that, almost every deck will play same copies of staple in their deck thus we can guess what card that they most likely to have now/soon.

Example, your opponent is playing Lightsworn and he left with 2 cards to draw. At this time, you knew he already mill 2 of his Judgment Dragon and all his Monster Reincarnation. You have a set COTH and hand remains 4(1 Effect Veiler, 1 Gorz, 1 Debris Dragon and 1 MST) while opponent have 3 hands, 3 Lightsworn monster, 2 set card(Solemn Warning, Torrential Tribute). Your graveyard have 1 Dandylion, 1 Spore, 1 Lonefire Blossom and other random while opponent already have all the material for summoning Judgment Dragon and he have 2 Necro Gardna in graveyard as well. Your LP left with 4000 while opponent have 6000.

What is the best method you can avoid yourself from being killed next turn while letting opponent lose due to unable to draw card anymore? 1st, MST any of the target. If you have destroy Warning then just proceed to SS Dandylion via COTH and SS Spore from graveyard by banished Lonefire Blossom. Then go for synchro summon of BRD if nothing chain to the SS of both monster and activate the effect of BRD to destroy the whole field. After that, you may consider to normal summon Debris Dragon and further proceed or just simply end the turn.

Let say your MST hit on Torrential Tribute then you should activate COTH to SS Dandylion and SS Spore from graveyard. Then synchro summon BRD as well and activate BRD effect to destroy all card. If he Warning your BRD then you can choose to normal summon Debris Dragon or just end the turn because you have Gorz on hand. By next turn, if he want to kill you by SS Judgment Dragon then you just defend with your Gorz and during his end phase, his JD need to mill 4 cards to graveyard. If he unable to mill cards anymore, then he will lose the game.

Last but not least, always combine 4 aspects information that I have covered here and make the best analysis based on time. Other than that, frequently review your strategy for each game and make a conclusion for your game so that you can understand what mistakes that you had did and avoid from repeating the same mistake again. Based on those analysis, you may have backup plan whenever you failed to create a big/successful play and know how to side your deck in a better way.

Okay, sorry for posting such a lengthy article. That's all I want to share with you guys. Thanks for your precious time and wish you guys have a nice day. Please stay tuned for my next post.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-77543086006776550602012-12-27T20:49:00.004+08:002012-12-27T20:49:52.872+08:00Great News for most OCG playersHey, guys! The upcoming Gold Series(GS2013) definitely is one of the most valuable set that must list into to buy list. It is packed with almost all kind of useful cards such as Effect Veiler, Naturia Beast, Black Rose Dragon, Lavalval Chain, Forbidden Chalice, Macro Cosmo, Mind Control and etc. As a result, I have decide to buy 3 boxes of GS2013 so that the chances to hit a NR may be a bit higher.

As I have mentioned in my previous posts, Heraldic Beast deck is one of my major target to be build and currently I still seeking for a stable build. So far the build is still unstable because I found it hard to against most of the big ATK monster. If I play pure Heraldic Beast build then it will be more slow. Anyway, I will modify it till I feel it is pretty solid then only share the deck build with you guys.

Evilswarm started began popular in Malaysia now due to this deck can beat down most of the Meta deck in Game 1 and it is quite a cheap deck. Therefore, a lot of player choose to play it during the Yu-Gi-Oh! Malaysia Open Tournament 2012. Apart from that, quite a number of players playing Fire Fist during the tournament and 3 Fire Fist succeed to enter the final of the tournament.

This proves that not many of the players aware of Fire Fist and the 1st runner-up is playing the Fire Fist build without any side and promos. Therefore, we can see that Fire Fist is quite a stable as they can counter most of the Meta easily. I can see that Fire King and Fire Fist raise to tier 1 after March 2013 ban list. Thus please don't feel surprise with their result.

By the way, lately I have seen several Spellbook Prophecy deck appearing in some of the major tournament. However, they haven't topping in those event yet else the deck may become hot deck. Spellbook Prophecy is not a bad deck but they easily lack of monster. In other words, they still requires some low level beat stick spellcaster.

Anyway, I do have a OCG Spellbook Prophecy build in my DN account. I haven't test the deck yet but you guys may test the deck build. Below is my deck build:

You may ignore the Extra deck as I simply put any synchro/Xyz monster into it. Hopefully you guys can make use of their combo wisely. The combo basically is starting from Secret search for Master then search for Tower. From there, the loop will keep on going on if the Tower can stand at the field. Treacherous Trap Hole is the lonely trap in the deck and it will act as your defensive trap.

Spellbook Prophecy is deck where you will gain hand card advantage in a slow tempo. However, if you able to survive through the huge wave of attack, then 80% of the time, you will win the game afterward due to too much hand card advantage. The side deck of Spellbook Prophecy might be a bit difficult to build due to the whole deck not much slot to swap side cards.

For the side deck, you may put Dimensional Fissure, MST, Royal Decree, Oracle of the Sun and etc. The most difficult part of siding for Spellbook Prophecy is what monster that you requires to side due to not much power spellcaster monster to be put in the side. For the side deck that I have put in this picture, you may ignore it because some of the cards may not work on you guys.

Okay, that's all I want to share with you guys. Thanks for your time and wish you guys have a nice day. Please stay tuned for my next post.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-52187709077627372312012-12-16T00:24:00.000+08:002012-12-16T00:24:14.639+08:00Change of Card Quality in OCG!Hey, guys! SD24 has arrived at OCG and many OCG players found out that its card quality dropping. The most important point is it is MADE IN USA. Konami has switched its card factory from China to USA due to money issue.

I'm not sure what have happen to KDE(Konami Digital Entertainment) and seems like they are owing the China factory for several months of payment(received the unofficial news from China website). This has caused the factory to unemployed some of the foreign workers. Due to factory lack of money to operate, as a result, they also stop producing cards for Konami.

Therefore Konami find other vendors to solve this issue. Hopefully Konami will solve this issue soon and restore our OCG card quality again because I so like with the old card quality. Apart from that, I also a bit late to update a few new rulings regarding Swap Frog.

Swap Frog

Hey, guys! Today I will discuss some of the impact of the release of Cosmo Blazer(CBLZ) in OCG. Since the release of this booster, Fire Fist started become one of the main attraction for OCG players and this booster do released a lot of Fire attribute monsters or support cards.

Fire Fist is quite similar with Mermail Atlanteans and basically this deck is a promo deck oriented deck. The reason I say so is due to the deck requires a lot of promo cards and without those promo cards, this deck tempo will be slow and not easy to gain hand advantage. As a result, promo cards are essential in this deck. Therefore, more promo = Deck Price Expensive/Imba.

Anyway, players will still play the deck although it is pricey. Current tier 1 decks consists of Mermail variant, Wind-Up, HERO, TGU Rabbit, Gadget/Karakuri variant and Fire Fist had just join the Meta call not long ago. I didn't grouped former top decks(Hieratic, Inzektor and Chaos Dragon) under the category of tier 1 due to the significant number of play less than the current tier 1.

Therefore, I more prefer to group them under tier 1.5. For tier 2 decks, it is consists of Angel variant, Dark World, Six Samurai, Junk Doppel/its variant and etc. Soon Heraldic Beast will join tier 2 and will rise up from there after March 2013. Apart from that, SD24 - Assault of the Flame King is a nice deck and I think it will join tier 1 after 2 months of its official released.

As usual, I will go with my ruling post again. This time I will share the latest ruling of cards that have released in Cosmo Blazer(CBLZ). For those whose don't know the effect of the card, you can search it at Yugioh Wikia(http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page).
Please stay tuned for my next post.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-55586636982816681032012-10-22T00:15:00.000+08:002012-10-24T23:14:54.757+08:00Card Ruling of DP13Hey, guys! Sorry for less updating my blog and today I will share some of my thought regrading the shift of meta deck. Just few days ago, Konami revealed some of the great cards to be release in the upcoming booster, Cosmo Blazer(CBLZ).

Similar with previous year, this booster gonna introduce new theme and most of the cards release in this booster will affect the trend of meta decks. One of the most obvious part is the release of Flaming Star/Firestar and Heraldic support cards. With these cards, a lot of old theme deck may alive due to their presence.

I personally feel that Heraldic is the descendant of Scrap and they might inherent the destruction power of Inzektor soon. So far, Heraldic can easily Xyz summon any rank 4 monster and they do have their own monster reborn. Thus most of the time Xyz summon for them is not longer -1 issue and Xyz monster will become their major boss.

I feel that Heraldic may rise to Tier 1 before or during March 2013. Apart from that, SD24 is a major boost for old cards such as Manticore of Darkness, Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys and etc. They also have the support of boss monster and it can act as a finisher at certain moment. Similar with SD22, SD24 might become Tier 1 after this.

With the rise of these decks, graveyard is still the most important component in the game play. Therefore, any card that can get rid of graveyard will remain in one of the side deck choice. As a result, Compulsory Evacuation Device is still one of the best card to get rid of annoying boss or defense wall.

Besides that, let me share some new rulings of cards from Duelist Pack 13: Kite(DP13). Below are the details of each card.

Kuriphoton

Okay, that's all I wanna share with you guys! Thanks for your time and wish you guys have a nice day.

Hey, guys! Sorry for not updating my blog for a long time! Recently quite busy with my working life. Okay, today I would like to share some of my thoughts regarding the effective of OCG format at Asia. It has been a long time for not allowing promo cards to be play in Asia official tourney. However, not all promo cards are legal except all magazine, comic, guide book cards and DT cards from DT01 till DT02.

With the legality of promo cards, we might see more interesting decks playing around the official tourney. IMO, this is a good environment to train a player to be skillful enough or creative. Therefore, our side will be more generic due to variety of decks will compete in this environment. EP12 gonna release next month and the OCG environment will have a lot of impact. We will see Wind-Up or Rabbit Laggia become the top meta very soon in OCG.

Anyway, EP12 gonna be the last extra pack in YGO history and we might see new promo pack been introduced during next year August till October. Apart from that, the new booster pack, Cosmo Blazer introduce the theme of Flaming-Star. Similar with Flamvell, they all are Fire attribute and Beast-Warrior type too. However, it was not too compatible with the Flamvell deck due to their DEF not below 200.

Based on the card set that have been revealed, I can see that the Flaming Star is quite similar with Magician play style. As a result, I expect the new SD24: Assault of the Flaming King will highly support the current Flamvell theme card so that Flamvell deck can rise as the top META by the end of this year. I expected the cover card of this SD will be a level 7 or 8 monster with the effect of banish opponent monster on the field.

For the spell and traps, I wish they could draw or search a monster from the deck. As a result, Flamvell deck will be much more stable. Btw, ZW - Lion Arms is quite a useful card and it can be used to combo with Wind-Up deck to produce OTK. Apart from that, it is quite a big beat stick although you can't use it to perform direct attack. Garbage Lord is useful too because it can be combo to instant Xyz rank 5 Dark Xyz monster or act as a defense wall.

For the Fish deck, Xyz Remora is a good combo to instant Xyz Number 32: Shark Drake. I can foresee that Gold Series might not be produce anymore but still we will see more reprints to be happen in OCG soon. The reprint pack might reprint all kind of hot cards and all time favorite cards just like Gold Series. Therefore, inflation of card price especially in OCG will happen any time soon.

3 more weeks later, EP12 will be release in OCG. Hopefully I can get Reborn Tengu and Tour Guide from Underworld with the reasonable price. Okay, that's all I wanna share with you guys. Wish you guys have a nice day. Please stay tuned for my next post.
I'm back and today I will share some latest rulings regarding several cards. I think most of you have thought of this kind of question before, however, you might not be able to found the actual answer in Yugioh Wikia. As a result, I will share it with you guys here.

Waboku
Q: Is this card's effect targeted player or monster card?(Would the monster card which applying effect such as Forbidden Lance or etc have no battle damage? Furthermore, the monster card which applying effect such as Forbidden Lance or etc can be battle destroyed or not?)
A: This card's effect neither targeted player nor monster card. Thus, the monster which applying effect such as Forbidden Lance or etc will have no battle damage and prevent from battle destroyed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monster Gate
Q: The monster that special summon via the effect of Monster Gate is considered special summon from what location?
A: It is special summon from the deck.

Q: If Metaion, the Timelord was revealed, would the special summon proceed as normal?
A: No, special summon will not be proceed, in this case, Metaion, the Timelord will be send to graveyard along with other revealed cards and the resolve of effect end here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction
Q: This card was turned face-down when its effect is resolving during my Standby phase, do I need to detach its Xyz material?
A: Yes, you still need to detach its Xyz material.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
High Medallion Arts
Q: When Summon Limit is face-up on the field and I have perform Summon, can I activate it?
A: No, you can't.

Q: When Scary Moth is on the field, can I activate it?
A: No, you can't.

Q: Can I activate Black Horn of Heaven to negate the Xyz summon?
A: Yes, you can activate it right after 2 of the targeted monsters was special summoned and Xyz summon is performed.

Q: Would this Xyz summon affected by the effect of Stygian Dirge?
A: Yes, it does and the monsters special summoned by this card's effect will reduce 1 level. Eg, when 2 level 4 Heraldic monsters was special summoned and their level were level 4, thus you must Xyz summon rank 3 Xyz monster.

Q: When this card is activate and Stygian Dirge is chain to its activation(this caused the level of monster change) and I don't have any Xyz monster that can Xyz summon with those monsters, how should it resolved in this case?
A: The targeted monster will be special summoned, in this case, Xyz summon will not be performed and those monsters remains on the field.

Q: If opponent control Stygian Dirge on the field and I don't have rank 3 Xyz monster in the extra deck, can I activate this card to target 2 level 4 Heraldic Beast monster?
A: Yes, you can activate it. In this case, the selected monsters will remain on the field.

Q: If opponent control Stygian Dirge on the field, I don't have rank 4 Xyz monster but contain rank 3 Xyz monster in the extra deck, can I activate this card to target 2 level 4 Heraldic Beast monster?
A: No, you can't activate it.

Q: During card resolution, if either one of the targeted monster left the graveyard, how does it resolved?
A: In this case, no monster will be special summon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mermail - Gaioabyss
Q: After the effect of negating monster effect is applied, the monster that opponent summon afterward which have ATK point lower than it would be negated or not?
A: No, this card can only negate the face-up effect monster's effect that remain on the field when it is resolving. The monster that summon after the applied of Gaioabyss's negate effect will not be negate. In simple term, it will negate the effect monster's effect that activate on the field no matter the monster's effect is resolved at where once this card's effect is applied.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey, guys! Since the real ban list have been revealed, I think most of you guys may think that the current March 2012 META decks may fully retired from tier 1 to tier 2. However, the truth is such thing may not happen for current META decks. Before I proceed to the discussion point, let's have a look of the current META decks.

Current tier 1 consists of Inzektor, Hieratic, Chaos Dragon, Gadget variant, Rabbit Laggia, Wind-Ups, Six Samurai while tier 2 consists of Dark World, Agents Fairy, Mermails/Atlanteans, Karakuri variant, Scrap, Junk Doppel, Hero variant and etc. META decks are powerful due to the number of power cards or key cards in their deck. Most of the time, they have built-in search and destruction engine. As a result, they can have arise to be tier 1.

By referring to the tier 1, the September 2012 ban list does not kill the deck while it emphasize on the skill play nowadays. Eg, Inzektor have lost 2 Hornet and 2 Dragonfly thus they need to play the deck much more carefully to avoid their key cards from being destroyed whereas Wind-Ups still can wipe up at least 4 of your opponent hand cards. As a result, I don't see the current META will drop down from the front line although number of players for current META deck will drop.

Apart from that, Konami have made a great decision for bringing up previous META deck back to the stage and this will cause the card game environment much more competitive and interesting. However, please beware that Mermails/Atlanteans, Madolche and Prophecy Beat may replace the current META decks as tier 1 soon. You might not see the arise of them now but somehow I can see how potential they are.

Currently, I am trying different build for current META decks and they are still alive. If you build them solidly, I pretty sure they still can topping in most of the tournaments. As I expected, the next SD gonna be Fire attribute deck and this SD gonna be a major boost for current Fire-themed deck. I think they will reprint some of the Laval cards in this SD and this SD might have new cards that built-in destruction effect.

Next month Extra Pack 2012 (EP12) gonna released at OCG and this will drastically affect META deck build. As a result, we might see new archetype of decks soon. I think I will collect a few pieces of Reborn Tengu and Tour Guide of Underworld. However, their price should be quite expensive due to their rarity. Okay, that's all I wanna share to you guys today! Thanks for dropping here from time to time and wish you guys have a great day! Please stay tuned for my next post.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-15029763791369847832012-08-17T17:21:00.002+08:002012-08-17T21:59:37.679+08:00THE FINALIZED SEPTEMBER 2012 BAN LISTHey, guys! Today I will share a short post regarding the finalized September 2012 ban list from Konami. You guys may doubt this list whether real enough, however, what I can say is this list will be applied on 1st September 2012.

Forbidden/Banned List(Not allow to include any single copy at all):
Brionac, Ice Barrier Dragon
Future Fusion

Restrict/Limit List(Can put at most 1 piece):
Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity
Evigishki Gustkraken
Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon
Inzektor Dragonfly
Inzektor Hornet
Spore
Chaos Sorcerer
Tsukuyomi
Ultimate Offering

Semi-Restrict/Semi-Limit List(Can put at most 2 pieces):
Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow
Rescue Rabbit
Debris Dragon
Agent of Mystery - Earth
Tour Guide from the Underworld
Emergency Call
Reasoning
A Hero Lives
Hieratic Seal of Convocation
Pot of Duality
Mirror Force

No Longer Restricted/Unlimited List(Can put at most 3 pieces):
Necro Guardna
Marshmallon
Destiny Draw
Emergency Teleport
Level Limit - Area B
Swords of Revealing Light
Magic Cylinder

Based on the new ban list, I can see that many Inzektor or Wind-Up players will quit the game or update their current META according to the list. Anyway, this list does not kill most of the decks while it allow you to play with your skill more than playing bluffly. Btw, we may see Black Rose Dragon appear in the game more often now.

With this list, the old META(META of 2011) will join the game together and this will create a more competitive environment. Hopefully we can see this situation last for a long time so that everyone can have almost equal chances of winning the top spot but not only a deck that topping among all decks. Is time for me to play back my Debris Plant now. Hahaha!

Okay, that's all I wanna share to you guys today! Thanks for your attention and wish you guys have a great time! Please stay tuned for my next post.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-54778886080321943392012-08-14T23:59:00.001+08:002012-08-14T23:59:53.532+08:00Inzektor Dominate the WorldHey, guys! Sorry for letting you guys wait so long for my new post. Finally, I'm back to share some news with you guys. Yugioh World Championship 2012 just ended few days ago and the new ban list gonna reveal within these few days. Let us congratulate Akikazu Saito for winning the Yugioh World Championship 2012 Expert Champion Title and Japan again holding the world title in their hand.

So far, this world championship is quite interesting because we have variety of decks competed in this championship. However, Inzektor is dominance at OCG land and it is far more consistent compare with other META decks. As a result, we can expect the major occurrence of Inzektor players and win the world title.

At here, I would like to point out the mistake where my country champion, Tan Sung Lee had did during the championship. During Day 1 Swiss round 5, I found that he made a misplay for his 2nd game. He had made extra normal summon for his Zephyros during the late part of the 2nd game and this issue has brought some conflict among the Yugioh Community.

For those whose haven't watch the replay, you guys may watch it now. Below is the match where Malaysia Champion, Tan Sung Lee versus Thailand Champion, Santi Phromduangsri during the Swiss round 5 Table 1. Both of them are playing Chaos Dragon and the misplay was made during the late part of 2nd game.

At here, I would like to represent Sung Lee apologize to Thailand champion, Santi Phromduangsri for his misplay during the 2nd game. Although Sung Lee had represented Malaysia to play in YGO major events for numeral of times, he is still a normal human, therefore he may misplay due to nervousness. Hopefully, Santi would forgive Sung Lee's misplay.

Not long ago, many players still doubt regarding activation of Atlantean monster effect if they were discarded due to Mermail - Megaloabyss effect. The actual answer is Atlantean monster effect CAN BE TRIGGERED if they were discarded due to Megaloabyss effect. I know you guys have another question in your mind and the question would be "Discarded 2 Water-attribute monster to SS Megaloabyss is a summon condition but why it would trigger the effect of Atlantean monster?"

To make the thing clearer, let us check the effect description of Machina Fortress and Mermail - Megaloabyss. Both of the SS effect is quite similar thus we can notice the difference. In this case, I will just take the 1st part of effect description to do the comparison.

Machina Fortress Japanese effect description:
You can discard Machine-Type monster(s) whose total Levels equal 8 or more, then Special Summon this card (from your hand or Graveyard).

Mermail - Megaloabyss Japanese effect description:
自分のメインフェ

Translation:
During Your Main Phase: You can activate this card's effect by discarding 2 Water Attribute monster except this card to the graveyard, then Special Summon this card (from your hand).

In a simple manner, Megaloabyss is chainable special summon or effect that special summon. As a result, you CANNOT ACTIVATE Solemn Judgment, Black Horn of Heaven, Thunder King Rai-Oh and Steelswarm Roach effect to negate its special summon. Thus it can trigger the 2nd effect of Atlantean monster(Marksman, Armed Soldier, Dragon Rider).

Apart from that, a new ruling regarding Mermail - Abyssturge was just released not long ago. The FAQ is as below:
Q: If I activate Abyssturge effect to discard Mermail - Abyssgunde or Atlantean Armed Soldier and added either one to my hand, can I activate Abyssgunde or Atlantean Armed Soldier's effect?
A: If you discard and target Atlantean Armed Soldier, then its effect can be activate. If you discard and target Abyssgunde, then the result is unconfirmed.(Unconfirmed = you are forbid to activate its effect now until the exact answer is provided)

Okay, that's all I wanna share to you guys today. Thanks for dropping by and wish you guys have a nice day. Let us await for the real ban list to reveal. Please stay tuned for my next post. scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-167631977140113472012-07-25T00:09:00.002+08:002012-07-25T00:09:40.286+08:00Revise of Damage Step

Bull Blader

Hey, guys! Today I will share with you guys regarding the whole flow and what cards that you capable to activate during Damage Step. Bull Blader is a GB support card whereby it can help GB monster to clear the high attack monster. GB always face the problem of hardly to get rid of high attack monster. As a result, Bull Blader is needed. Bull Blader's effect will be resolved After Damage Calculation which is different from Ally of Justice Catastor.

First of all, Damage Step is a step in the Battle Phase whereby Battle Phase will be divided into Start Step > Battle Step > Damage Step > End Step. Start Step is the step where you would prepare to declare for entering Battle Step. Battle Step is the step where you would declare attack and select attack target. Damage Step is the step where you and your monster may or may not destroy by battle or card effect. End Step is the step where you would declare to end your Battle Phase.

In Damage Step, we can further categories it into 6 major sub-steps which is Start of Damage Step > Before Damage Calculation > Damage Calculation > After Damage Calculation > Result of Battle, Resolve of flip/trigger effect > End of Damage Step. Every monster will enter Damage Step once their battle are succeed. If there is chain link occur, the chain link will be arranged according to turn player priority.

Generally, we are forbid from activate any spell speed 2 or below cards EXCEPT spell speed 2 cards that can alter the monster ATK or DEF point and counter trap card in Damage Step. All face-down monster that being attacked will flip face-up unless card effect that caused it not to flip face-up. All face-down flip/trigger effect monster that flip face-up due to attack will activate and resolve right after Damage Calculation. If this monster is destroyed by battle, then it cannot choose itself as the target of its effect.

1) Start of Damage Step (before flipping up the face-down monster)
At this timing, you can activate quick effect/card that can alter the ATK or DEF point of monster and the face-down monster being attacked will not be flip face-up at this point. During this timing, trigger monster effect that apply before flipping the monster face-up will activate and resolve at this timing. All continuous monster effect that apply before flipping the monster face-up will resolve at this timing too. MULTIPLE CHAIN LINK can be occur at this timing.

*Note: All continuous monster effect will not have activation timing and
it will automatically apply once the condition is fulfilled, therefore, no
chain will be started at this point.

Eg of continuous monster effect that activate during Start of Damage Step is Jain, Lightsworn Paladin, Steamroid, Rampaging Rhynos and etc. Eg of trigger monster effect that activate during Start of Damage Step is Neos-Spacian Grand Mole, Mystic Swordman, Sasuke Samurai and etc will start a chain at this timing due to they will not flip face-up the attacked monster.

2) Before Damage Calculation (after flipping up the face-down monster)
At this timing, the face-down monster that being attacked will be flip and monster effect that activate when it is flip will not activate and resolve now. Eg of continuous effect that will apply Before Damage Calculation is Gaap the Divine Soldier, Level Limit - Area A, Level Limit - Area B and etc. Eg of trigger monster effect that activate Before Damage Calculation is Reflect Bounder, Blast Sphere, Drilldroid and etc.

Once again, you are allow to activate quick effect/card that can alter the ATK or DEF point of monster and MULTIPLE CHAIN LINK can be occur at this timing. Card effect that have the card text of "Without Applying Damage Calculation" having the same meaning with the card text of "Before Damage Calculation" and the Damage Calculation sub-step will be skipped. However, the remainder of sub-step in Damage Step (After Damage Calculation) will proceed as normal.

3) Damage Calculation
At this timing, you can only activate cards that have "During Damage Calculation" in the card text description such as Defense Draw, Kinetic Soldier, Honest, Injection Fairy Lily, Psychic Commander and etc. You are not allow to activate card that can alter ATK or DEF point of the monster except it have "During Damage Calculation" in the card text description. Eg, Shrink, Rush Recklessly and etc.

You can only have A CHAIN LINK in this timing thus if you miss this chance then you are not allow to play any cards that can activate in this timing. Once the chain of card effect that can alter ATK or DEF point of monster finish resolved, then only continuous effect will be applied. Eg, once the effect of The Wicked Avatar, The Wicked Dreadroot and etc have been applied then Damage Calculation will only perform.

Damage Calculation will go through in such sequence: Confirmation of ATK/DEF point > Damage Point Confirmation (apply of piercing or battle destroy effect) > Occurrence of Battle Damage (reduction of Life Point) > Confirmation of Battle Destroy (apply of continuous effect). During Confirmation of Battle Destroy, which monster that battle destroy will be confirmed here. During this timing, Spirit Reaper that targetted by card effect, Giant Kozaky or Thunder Nyan Nyan that flipped up will be destroy by its own effect.

*Note: Some judges clarify that Spirit Reaper self-destruction effect will start a chain is TOTALLY FALSE and self-destruction of Spirit Reaper will NOT START A CHAIN.

4) After Damage Calculation
Trigger effect that activate after receiving battle damage will activate and start a chain link at this timing. Eg, Gorz The Emissary Darkness, Tragoedia, Airknight Parshath and etc. After Reflect Bounder have applied its effect that inflict opponent battle damage Before Damage Calculation, it will activate its self-destruction effect at this timing.

5) Result of Battle, Resolve of flip/trigger effect
All chain of flip/trigger effect that should be activate during Before Damage Calculation will be delayed till this timing then it will activate and resolve it. Eg, Snowman Eater, D.D. Warrior Lady, Divine Knight Ishzark and etc will activate at this timing. The monster effect that activate at this timing is treated as activate on the field thus Destiny Hero- Plasma, Skill Drain, Rainbow Veil and etc can negate the monster effect.

6) End of Damage Step
At this timing, the battle destroyed monster will leaving the field and card effect such as Banisher of the Radiance, Dimensional Fissure, Macro Cosmos and etc will resolve here. Trigger card effect such as recruit monster(SS monster from the deck), Coffin Seller and etc that will be activate during this timing. Card effect that prevent the equipped monster from battle destroy such as Relinquished, Machina Gearframe and etc will also resolve at this timing.

Okay, that's all I wanna share to you guys today! Thanks for your precious time and wish you guys have a nice day. Please stay tuned for my next post. If you guys have any issue regarding the card, please leave your comment here. I will try to reply as soon as possible.scyu.leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12392480291704539233noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4971243690985025115.post-15478798953734425402012-07-17T00:01:00.000+08:002012-07-17T00:01:58.766+08:00Forecast of September 2012 Ban ListHey, guys! Left with 1 more month then the September 2012 ban list will be released. Similar with previous years, I will do ban list prediction as well. Current existing META decks such as Inzektor, Hieratic, Chaos Dragon, Wind-Up, Rabbit Laggia and etc might be affected by the latest ban list.

Forbidden:
Brionac, Ice Barrier Dragon
Future Fusion
Mind Control

Limit:
Goyo Guardian
Hieratic Dragon King of Atum
Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity
Dark Magician of Chaos
Inzektor Hornet
Wind-Up Hunter
Ultimate Offering

Semi-limit:
Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow
Debris Dragon
Gladiator Beast Bestiari
Rescue Rabbit
Scapegoat
Mirror Force

No longer limit:
Marshmallon
Snipe Hunter
Tragoedia
Destiny Draw
Emergency Teleport
Level Limit - Area B
Swords of Revealing Light
Ojama Trio
Magic Cylinder

For the forbidden list, I think that Brionac deserve to have a rest at here due to it can be combo with variety of decks to do unlimited loop. Future Fusion is one of key card that can helps Chaos Dragon to perform OTK easily and Mind Control is so broken due to it is costless and almost guarantee a win for you if you draw it on time.

For the limit list, I think that Hornet, Carrier Zenmaity, Hunter should be included in this slot due to the whole deck combo basically work with these cards. The return of BLS also signify that DMOC may return to the game again. Mind Control is too evil especially in this environment because it can grab any monster costless and push the game back from there. Ultimate Offering is too good to play in Geargia and Gadget and with it, they can instantly OTK or control the game.

We have been a long time for not seeing Blackwing topping in major event and the main weak point is due to the number of Kalut in their deck. With the semi-limit of Kalut, their deck can be much more competitive. I personally wish that Debris Dragon return to semi-limit because synchro theme deck is rarely to play nowadays. Gladiator Beast deck is too slow and hardly to regain advantage thus Bestiari may return to semi-limit.

Semi-limit of Rescue Rabbit for sure won't kill the deck but its play will be a bit slow compare with current build. Scapegoat hardly to play nowadays due to the overwhelming of Xyz version of Gaia and Xyz summon don't even required of it. Most importantly, Spore and Glow-up Bulb is still in the forbidden list. Mirror Force may also return to 2 due to it is hardly to play nowadays due to too many destructive cards in the game.

For those new unlimited card list, most of them are hardly to be seen in the game nowadays and some of them not effective to be play in current environment. Therefore, Konami may unlimit them in the September ban list. If Konami really unlimit Destiny Draw, I pretty sure HERO engine will be splash into almost any deck and variant of Tele-DAD may rise from there. Anyway, hopefully this forecast ban list will become true.

Abyss Rising(ABYR) is going to release by this week and the full card list have been revealed. Among those cards, I strongly recommend you guys to collect Bull Blader, Mogumole, Gagaga Gunman, Forbidden Gorment, Magic Deflector and Memory of a Rival. Gagaga Gunman and Forbidden Garment will be the main attraction in this booster and they are splashable into any deck. By the way, the art of Mogumole is damn cute!

Okay, that's all I wanna share with you guys today and just share your thought with me! Thanks for your time and wish you guys have a nice day!

Hey, guys! Today I will share about my opinion for cards that will be printed in Abyss Rising(ABYR) booster pack. Heroic Challenger and Magical will have their new support cards soon. Based on my observation, Heroic Challenger series is much like the variant of X-Saber and most of them are Earth attribute as well.

Somehow, they are all Warrior type but their effect still not extremely good enough. Most of their monster effect are not too supportive except Double Lance that allow you to Xyz summon easily. Anyway, they can fully fit with the Earth Spirit God - Grand Soil to have Xyz summon or beat down your opponent more easily. One of the bad part of the deck is they lack of level 3 monster to act as support or defense.

With the support of level 3 monster, we can Xyz rank 3 monster easily or combo with M-X-Saber Invoker to SS Warrior-type monster to perform additional Xyz summon. Apart from that, Card Trooper is plenty useful in this deck because it can help to fill up the graveyard and you won't lost your advantage if it is destroy by battle or card effect. The most important part is it is an Earth monster as well. T.G monster also allow you to stall on the field for a while too.

Gogogo Golem also act as the stall monster and it can combo with Gogogo Giant so that you can Xyz summon rank 4 monster easily. This build will have many Earth monster and consists of 9 Warrior-type monster in the main. Instant Fusion can also added so that you can have more option of synchro or Xyz summon. This deck basically is a bit competitive and the only problem with it is just lack of some speed and stability. Anyway, this deck is good for newbie to learn to play combo deck.

I would named this deck as Earth Beat Down deck. The whole deck surround with 14 Earth-attribute monster and without Effect Veiler at all. Thus this deck required a lot of strategy planning and how you gonna play around with your opponent's Effect Veiler. In a nutshell, this deck will improve your skill and you will be practice to think further before you perform any of the combo.

Besides this deck, I had play with SD23: Roar of
the Sea Emperor which build by my friend. This deck is not bad and it allow you to easily Xyz any
rank 2 or 3 monster easily. The whole deck rely on the effect of Deep Sea Diva and an Effect
Veiler can spoil the whole deck combo. However, with the release of
Mermail in ABYR, I can see that this deck will be competitive during
that time. Thus Effect Veiler may no longer as the major threat for this deck.

For those whose haven't understand how the Mermail combo works around, please learn it now because I can see that their deck will be found anywhere at the local once ABYR is officially released. This deck can perform many of the OTK stuffs, however, I won't discuss any of the Mermail combo since many bloggers had shared their ideas. For those whose interested with the Mermail combo, you may check it from here.
