Foresee of September 2011 Ban List

Hey, guys! Now left with a month and 2 more weeks, the new September 2011 ban list will be revealed. With the released of Structure Deck 21 Devil's Gate into OCG, Dark World once again made a massive hit to the OCG environment within a week. The new Dark World was similar to Agent Fairy and they are very competitive with those new support cards. However, Konami also dislike decks that have conquer or majoring the OCG and TCG environment for a long time thus Konami will make some changes to it.

Without wasting your time, we directly go to my prediction ban list. Below is my forecast of September 2011 ban list.

Ban:
Dark Hole
Future Fusion

Limit:
T.G. Hyper Librarian
Archlord Kristya
Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
Rescue Rabbit
Royal Tribute
Crush Card Virus
Deck Devastation Virus
Eradicator Epidemic Virus
Solemn Warning
Ultimate Offering

Semi-limit:
Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier
Junk Synchron
Marshmallon
Night Assailant
Destiny Draw
Pot of Duality
Super Polymerization
Double Edge Sword Technique
Skill Drain

No longer limit:
Spirit Reaper
Magic Cylinder
Ojama Trio

I listed Dark Hole to the ban list according to the analysis from last year September ban list and the reprint of Dark Hole in GS2011. As you guys can see, Elemental Hero deck is much more powerful with the release of Elemental Hero Escuridão because they can fusion to any of the Elemental Hero as they like and Future Fusion act as a tool for FTK. They will re-use Future Vision effect by bounce it back to hand with the effect of Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite and Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier. Thus Future Fusion might be in the new ban list as I predicted.

The reason I listed Eradicator Epidemic Virus and Deck Devastation Virus into the prediction ban list because most of the Dark World monster compatible to be the virus activation material and they can destroy most of the deck through these viruses. In my opinion, the release of Crush Card Virus from the ban list is needed so that most of the main stream decks can be slow down. With the reprint of Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning in GLD4, I predicted it will be free from the new ban list soon. Apart from that, Gravekeeper Recruiter is gonna release in EXP4 thus Konami might limit Royal Tribute so that Gravekeeper become weak.

The unlimited of Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier caused the FTK combo still occur thus I predict that it will again back to semi-limit. Nowadays, Ojama Trio have very little impact to the environment due to the popularity of synchro summon thus it might be back to unlimited soon. The overwhelming of Junk Doppel in OCG might be affected by this ban list due to the semi-limit of Junk Synchron and limit of T.G. Hyper Librarian. Agent Fairy is stable due to the effect of special summon restriction from Archlord Kristya and this make the opponent hard to regain their advantage towards Agent Fairy's player.

Some of us may not agree with the limit of Rescue Rabbit because they have not see how broken this card can be. Rescue Rabbit can be used in lot of the decks such as Cloudian, Fishborg, TCG Gladiator Beast and much more deck. With this ban list, the environment of OCG might become much more balance due to the limit of these powerful monsters and support cards. Apart from that, the new ruling of priority will apply in TCG soon and the rulings of most of the cards in TCG will have the same ruling results as OCG soon.

One more information to share with you guys is there is a change in the OCG ruling for effect synchro summon(including Formula Synchron, T.G. Wonder Magician and Urgent Tuning) and Ultimate Offering. Previously, if you activate the effect of Ultimate Offering/Mausoleum of the Emperor/Cry Havoc! and it is only chain 1, your opponent can negate the action of normal summon through Solemn Judgment or Horn of Heaven but recently it is under regulation. For the effect synchro summon, now it is no longer unstoppable. If you activate the effect of Formula Synchron or Urgent Tuning and it is as chain 1, your opponent can negate the action of synchro summon through Solemn Judgment or Black Horn of Heaven. Normal synchro summon is unaffected by this new ruling.

To explain the new ruling of effect synchro summon, let me use an example to explain it. Eg, you activate the effect of Formula Synchron or Urgent Tuning and it is as chain 1, your opponent can have 2 options for negating your effect synchro summon if they are having Solemn Warning or Royal Oppression on the field. First, they can negate it before you send the synchro material to the graveyard that is before the effect synchro summon is resolving. Second, they can negate it after you send your synchro material to the graveyard that is during the effect synchro summon is resolving but before your synchro monster is landed to the field.

The actual flow of effect resolving for Ultimate Offering/Formula Synchron/Urgent Tuning or etc is as below:
Chain 1 Activate of effect normal summon/synchro summon including paying cost(Urgent Tuning and etc) --> Initial of effect resolving --> Released monster for Advanced Summon/Sending synchro materials to the graveyard --> Action of normal summon/synchro summon --> End of effect resolving --> End of chain resolving. [Your opponent can negate the effect synchro summon in the two red highlighted timing by using Solemn Warning or Royal Oppression]. If your opponent having Solemn Judgment or Black Horn of Heaven then they can only negate the chain 1 effect synchro summon during the timing of activation of effect synchro summon including paying cost.

Apart from that, if you special summon your monster through the effect of Infernity Launcher or Fusion Gate, your opponent cannot negate its effect and activation of special summon through Solemn Warning or Royal Oppression. Same judging also made for the Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen. Thus, these cards are unstoppable if you have Solemn Warning or Royal Oppression on the field. Okay, that's all I wanna share today. If you have any comments or opinions, please leave your comments here so that we can discuss it together. Thanks for your precious time and wish you guys have a nice day! Please stay tuned for my next post.

Not a bad prediction but I think some of the cards are not going to be hit as you say it will.

1st Dark Hole. With Shi En and all the other mean dudes around, banning dark hole won't be much. It is better to ban monster reborn as it is more devastating.

T.G. Librarian (Next March)
Limiting it will still not stop SQD's summoning.

Limited
Shi En. Shi En will definitely hit the list provided how strong people in TCG say they are.

Black Luster Soldier. Nope, never gonna see that coming back. That's why we have chaos sorcerers.

Viruses. They may be strong but they are not broken unlike CCV. Re-releasing CCV will spell doom for most, if not all of the current meta decks.

Warning. It won't hit limited because of the specific cost. Unlike Judgment that reduces half your LP. You can't use Warning once your LP hits below the required amount.

Offering. Not so sure about this. Swarming the field doesn't mean that you will win.

I think other Six Samurai, BF and Gladiator Beast cards will get hit cause they are the most famous decks at the moment.

I would have to think that tengu would either get semi-limited or even limited based on the tournament results in north america.
